Lottery Functions
The lottery system has many advantages over the traditional first come/first served systems. Some of the advantages include:
- The tennis player no longer has to stop everything at a pre-determined time and call the pro shop to make a reservation. The tennis player simply makes a request at their convenience and the system will notify them of the assigned court time.
- Groups are kept together during the placement process. The system will assign adjacent courts encouraging group play. Different tennis players don't have to call and try to get back to back courts.
- The system fairly distributes court times based on pre-program algorithms. The tennis staff is no longer involved answering the telephone and is freed up to perform other task
- Enforces member and guest rules based on court time, facility, court type, day of the week and membership type.
The system supports 3 main placement algorithms and 24 minor algorithms. The 3 main algorithms are:
- Play History
The system sums the individual tennis's play history to arrive at the team's average play history. Then teams are ranked based on the team's average play history.
- Bonus Points
Similar in theory to "Play History" but the tennis player receives credits against their play history for not receiving the request court time and/or court.
- Random
Each team is assigned a random number. Then teams are ranked from the lowest to highest random number.
Assigning court times for the season? Contract Court Times will save you time and frustration.
